Victor Santos · Freelance software engineer & technical director

Clean and on deadline.

I take products from first commit to launch, and lead engineering teams when a company needs someone to own the tech.

01 / Services

Foundations first, lights last.

Four ways to work together, from strategy to launch. Keep scrolling. HoverTap a part to jump to it.

01 / 04

Technical direction

I take over or run engineering: roadmap, hiring and vendors. Then I set the architecture everything else rests on.

  • Project takeovers & handovers
  • Domain modelling & architecture decisions
  • Code reviews & team leadership

Backend & automation

The services, data stores and cloud everything runs on, plus the jobs and agents that keep it running on its own.

  • NestJS / Fastify services & APIs
  • Kubernetes, Terraform & Keycloak
  • AI agents & automated workflows

Web & app development

What users actually touch: fast, accessible web apps, back-offices and sites that sit cleanly on top of the backend.

  • Vue / Nuxt, React / Next.js, PHP & WordPress
  • Back-offices and admin tools
  • Performance & SEO

MVPs & product launches

A focused first version in weeks: deployed, monitored, with real users on it.

  • Scope down to a shippable core
  • Auth, Stripe billing & admin from day one
  • Ready to grow, not to be rewritten

Up and running

Four layers. One product in production.

Most products need several of these. I can take on the whole stack, or join your team exactly where a piece is missing.

02 / How I work

Clean architecture, by default.

Same approach on every project: the business at the centre, frameworks at the edges, tests all the way through.

Hexagonal architecture: the domain sits inside the application; adapters such as the API, tests, the database and vendors plug into ports on its edges, and every dependency points inward. Application Domain API Tests Database Vendors Dependencies point inward
  1. 01 · DDD

    Domain first

The business vocabulary is the code’s vocabulary. Bounded contexts, aggregates and use cases you can read out loud to the people who own them.

  2. 02 · Hexagonal

    Ports & adapters

Databases, frameworks and vendors plug in at the edges. The domain never imports them, so they can change without a rewrite.

  3. 03 · Tests

    Tested by default

Unit tests on the domain, integration tests on the adapters, end-to-end on what users do. All of it runs on every change.

  4. 04 · Clean code

    Boring on purpose

Small modules, explicit names, infrastructure as code and written decisions. Something the next developer is glad to inherit.

03 / Selected work

Shipped, and still running.

Always hands-on.

I started out on data-heavy backends and went freelance at the end of 2022. Today I split my time between leading engineering at a payments company and my own products, from Paris, for clients anywhere.

A shared office for teams and their AI

Burotomo

Founder · Sole engineer

Tickets, documents and pipelines with human approval gates, where each person’s own AI connects over MCP and can work on their machine. Agents run sandboxed, secrets never reach them. Hosted in Paris, billed with Stripe.

Solo, end to end

  • TypeScript
  • Nuxt
  • Claude Code
  • MCP
  • Keycloak

Donations & tips, on terminals and online

HEOH

Technical director · since 2023

Donation and tip collection on payment terminals, kiosks and online, for non-profits and merchants. I lead the backend that reconciles every transaction and produces statements and payouts for partners, along with the Kubernetes infrastructure it runs on.

Payouts, fully automated

  • NestJS
  • TypeScript
  • PostgreSQL
  • Terraform
  • Helm
  • Nuxt

Real-estate leads

Visiteonline

Software developer · 2021-2022

Wrote the scraping engine behind a real-estate leads business: crawlers that collected property listings across the web, then parsed, cleaned, deduplicated and imported them.

Leads, collected automatically

  • Crawlers
  • Data pipelines

Electronic instrument community

Muzikaloid

Co-founder · Engineer

Co-founded an association for people who design and make their own electronic instruments, and developed its forum: relationship-based permissions with OpenFGA, background jobs on BullMQ, deployed with GitOps.

Paris Fire Brigade solidarity challenge

Un Défi pour Tim

Design & development

Redesigned the fundraising site for a firefighters’ challenge supporting an injured comrade, on a custom WordPress theme with HelloAsso.

Donations, built in
